After finally accepting our loss in the district semifinals, i think the seniors should be recognized for their great careers. two state semifinal appearances, district silver, district gold, 3 straight division titles, and a state championship. The four main seniors led the team over the past three years and will leave as the winningest senior class in branywine baseball history. congrats and we will be back next year

I agree 100 percent. Also next years team should be solid. there are 3 really good sophmores that will be juniors next year and will be HUGE contributers as they were this year. Also, there is one junior who will be a senior next year who is a great leader and hitter who will hopefully lead the squad far. Good luck

That will be a problem for us, but we have two sophmores, going to be juniors, who will step up and pitch. The league and our division is so bad, we can get by on our good hitting

The four main seniors led that team for a single year, which happened to be the least successful of the last three years. Yes they had good high school careers, but nothing extraordinary compared to plenty of other players over the past 6-7 years. Anyone who has watched recently will tell you that the competition locally has become quite a joke.

Exactly. Kids on the team can talk themselves up, but 2009 and 2010 arnt the only teams to ever have sucess. Id know ive seen all the teams play through and am not a member of these teams so im not biased like others above ^^^. There is no doubt the 2009 team was a solid team, but its foundation was set by Coach Cole taking over a team in 2004 that will forever be the best team in brandywine history regardless of if they lost in the state semis to a team that would dominate the 2009 2010 teams. If you want to celebrate players celebrate all of the best ones not just players that won when the league was down. In the long run dont look at high school and the bad competition it poses, look at who goes on to bigger and better things outside of it. How many kids from 2009 will play college ball? 2?? Look at 2004, 2007, and 2008 for some college athletes that went and did something beyond high school which no one from the 2009 team will be able to say save one player if he stays healthy at K town.

Saying that you're going to play college ball and actually being good enough to make the team are two different things. I'll reserve judgement untill next year at this time when we'll know who did and who didn't.

You mean to tell me that the four seniors going on to play college baseball won't make a college team? These seniors made up half of the baseball team the last two years, and you think they won't play college baseball? What are you smoking? Anybody that has been to any of the games can see the talent, and of course the college scouts saw that too!

OK, that was completely uncalled for, you condescending piece of $hit. What gives you the right to make fun of a student's choice of school or career?
That was nasty, elitist and completely wrong. You should be ashamed of yourself. How would you like it if that was your child, or you? Not so nice, is it?
Creep.

It depends on where they're going to go to school. There were certainly no division 1 players on this years team. College ball, even division 3, is huge step up from high school ball.

Grow up!! These are kids who have elected to go to college to get an education. Applaud them! I wish them all well and hope that they gain an education that will allow them to support themselves and become productive citizens. May they learn from your poor examples of judging youth and high school athletes. Look in the mirror! Judge yourself and not the kids.

Its okay. If this person had any real balls, he would have signed his name to his post. IE, this person doesn't have a set (or a brain)to be able to put down a couple of young men who have great potential, whether they decide to pursue a career in baseball or to pursue a career in their technical field they have chosen. Obviously these 4 or 5 young men could have played anywhere with their talent but they chose colleges that would further their education in their chosen career fields. Also, this last comment is for the intended sole person(Mr. No Balls) who wrote the the comment about the "2 Penn College" students, if it wasn't for technology/engineering schools, you wouldn't have been able to write your nasty comments on your over-priced computer!

As far as the 2004 team being better than the 2009 team, how can you say that ? Correct me if i`m wrong but, the 2009 team was the only one in school history to wear that gold medal around their necks. Obviosly you know nothing about the game of baseball. You need more than talent to be a successful TEAM. The 2009 group played together as a TEAM. Whereas the 2004 group probably had too many egos on that team. I`ll lend you my sons gold medal to wear around your neck, that way you`ll know what it feels like to be a winner ! LOSER

Take the blinders off. Noone is cutting the awesome job the 2009 team did. It was awesome to see them win. The point some are trying to make, and it is valid, is that in years past the competition level was much higher. You can see it in every sport.
Put the claws away, Mom. There were years where making it to states was more impressive than winning states.
You must be the Mom that hung the big banner across Home Avenue when they won. No? Then you certainly were the one that made the big sign at the school, right? No? You must be the one that setup a REAL celebration for these amazing boys, instead of a crappy parade, right? NO???
Oh, thats right, you were the one at the computer, keeping your baby, and their medal, safe, right? YES!

FYI: It can be listed on a resume under extracurricular activities or accomplishments, as well as any of the boys that have achieved any high ranks in scouting. Both achieved by my son I might add. Both accomplishments should be known by a future employer as it indicates a persons diligence, attaining goals, and commitment. Hence, a better employee (or student). But, of course, this would not be you because I'm sure if you had half a brain, you would not have made the comment you did.
Congrats to all 2010 Senior Baseball players, may you succeed in all that you do!!

No. Do you see anyone else on here mentally masturbating about their childs medals or achievements? Only those who wish to gloat endlessly bring it up. Most people respect the kids for what they did. We don't respect the parent who tries to horn in on the accomplishment.

When my kid played at BHS he had a teamate who, like himself , had gone thru all the youth programs for soccer, wrestling and baseball. My son chose 1 sport while his friend played all 3. This boy's parents went to every event and supported everyone on the teams. In baseball the boy played shortstop and pitched 4 or 5 games during his senior year. That young man, Wade Miller, later became a starting pitcher for the Houston Astros and pitched for several seasons. My point is Wade never won a medal in high school, his parents were terrific people and supported all the kids, and remained regular people even though their son was a major league pitcher. Why all the bashing? It is high school, or lower, don't get all wrapped up in the kids lives, let them grow-up on their own. They won't be kids forever enjoy it while you can.
